Second Thoughts

Watching Fringe right now. As it goes, there are rarely little moments that make me squee, and that’s not why I watch Fringe either, but there was such a moment just now:

Lady agent starts to get migraine.

Guy agent notices and asks: You ok?

Lady agent, while trying to open her bottle of pills and grimacing: Yeah, I just started to get another migraine.

Guy agent takes the bottle from her and opens it.

Lady agent looks at him, bewilderedly or indignantly, not sure which: I can do it.

Guy agent, firmly: I know you can, but you don’t need to. I’ll get you some water.

Me: OMG SO MANLY *melt*

Seriously if any guy did that for me in real life I’d be sooo crushing on him. I remember having a conversation I had with a friend once about gentlemanly guys, and why I like them. She said something like, when they do that, it’s as if they think women are weaker and need help all the time. But I’m of the opinion is that a true gentleman recognises a women’s strength and yet wants to help and protect her, knowing damn well she doesn’t need it. Because he just wants to :D
